Anyone who wants to make money online, is wise to learn everything they can about building a list of people in their target market and then go to work building it!

Traffic is expensive. You either pay for it with time to generate free traffic or you pay for it with money and usually plenty of it.

In the early days of the internet almost anyone could make money online by simply sending traffic directly to a highly converting sales page and waiting for the sales notices to roll in!
It was great, but those days are not just gone, they are long gone!
Today at best cold traffic sent directly to a sales page will convert at about 1%, but often its zero percent.
Either way that means you send 100 visitors to a page to make one sale - at best! You spent time or money to send those 100 target visitors to the page.
Even if you make that one sale that means 99 people left. You sent them, you don’t know any more about them now than you did before and you have no way to contact them again.
If instead, when they arrive, they find a compelling page with some content and an irresistible free offer conversions go up dramatically!
Not only do more people respond to an opt-in form when given a great free offer instead of a sales page, but now they are on your list and you can communicate with them develop a relationship with them and offer them products.
Offering products to people who know you and trust you because you have built a relationship with them creates much higher sales and you still have them on your list!
That’s why email marketing consistently out-performs other forms of marketing across all platforms. Currently email marketing is averaging a $44 ROI (return on investment).
So for every $1 spent on email marketing you make an average of $44! That is amazing!
