I was listening to episode 747 of the $100MBA podcast yesterday, which by the way is an excellent business podcast which I highly recommend. The episode was a about a writing challenge in which Omar Zenhom challenged the listeners to write one blog post a day for the next 21 days. Actually, it works out to less than that because the challenge is five days a week.
As I was listening, I figured this sounds like a great idea!
Writing to me has always been the most dreaded part of this business. I have never felt comfortable with my writing skills and never liked the way my writing flows. They say it takes 21 days to form a habit which is why Omar chose 21 as the magic number. At first this sounded impossible for me to write every single day, but then I started to break it down.
A blog post takes me an hour or so to write, that is not a lot of time to dedicate to my business. Omar’s challenge is for 21 days which is only 3 weeks, that's only 15 articles. After breaking it down, it no longer seemed impossible, it actually seems quite doable.
I then thought of all the benefits this challenge would bring:
Well there you have it. I am publicly declaring that I will be posting to this blog 5 days a week for the next 3 weeks. I am very excited about it and hope I could provide you interesting and educational information that will help you as you find your way in business and in life. I hope you will join me in this journey and please let me know what you think.
By the way here is a link to the podcast episode I mentioned above:
